Apologies for the delay in posting, life has been a little crazy recently. An Uncommon Reader is more like a novella than a novel. Short, but sweet.
The whole premise is what would happen if the Queen became an avid reader… Bennett shows her losing interest in her public duties, alienating those surrounding her with her discussions of literature and even threatening to become a writer!
A delightful story and one that – like many of my favourites – reinforces the value of reading. A few hours well spent.
